Mode of action

Film Sorbact

The Sorbact® method is based on a physical process that make two hydrophobic (water-repellent) particles bind together when in contact, utilizing the binding force of surrounding water molecules. The vast majority of pathogenic microorganisms are hydrophobic, and bind to the unique Sorbact® surface.

Reducing the microbial load in a wound may help to promote healing. Sorbact® should be applied directly to the wound surface.
Sorbact® is applied to the wound and the presence of moisture makes microorganisms bind to the dressing.
The dressing is changed, accompanied by the bacteria and fungi that have bound to the dressing.
